Greg Weingast

As Chief Investment Officer at ArchCo, Greg Weingast is responsible for the oversight of capital raising and investor relations for both corporate and project level entities. Mr. Weingast has over 30 years of real estate experience and over 20 years of multi-family experience.

In 1997, Mr. Weingast joined Charles E. Smith Residential which, in 2001, merged with Archstone. Serving in various roles with Archstone and Charles E. Smith Residential during his career, Mr. Weingast was ultimately promoted to Executive Vice President of Investment, a position he held until Archstone was acquired in 2013 by Equity Residential and Avalon Bay Communities. During his tenure, Mr. Weingast completed JV equity, mezzanine loan, acquisition, disposition, sale-leaseback, and structure financed transactions on more than $5.5 billion worth of apartments representing approximately 38,000 units throughout the country. In addition, Mr. Weingast’s responsibilities included the asset management of more than $2.5 billion of apartment acquisitions and developments representing more than 6,800 units.

After Archstone was acquired, Mr. Weingast opened Rock Creek Capital Partners, LLC a real estate advisory and investment firm. In addition, Mr. Weingast served as an Executive Vice President for the Van Metre Companies, a Washington Metropolitan Area real estate company.

Prior to joining Charles E. Smith, Mr. Weingast’s real estate career was focused in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area including serving as a principal at Stanton, a boutique real estate brokerage firm, as well as a principal at Stout and Teague, a development, investment, and advisory firm. Mr. Weingast began his career with Julien J. Studley, presently Savills Studley, a national real estate brokerage company, where he ended his service as an Assistant Vice President.

Mr. Weingast holds a Bachelor of Science of Business Administration with Honors from American University where he has also guest lectured on real estate matters. Mr. Weingast is a past member of a Multifamily Council of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the Board of Directors of the National Multi Housing (NMHC), and the Real Estate Lender’s Association (RELA). Mr. Weingast also has a long history of community engagement and philanthropy and is presently serving as a board member on The Rock Creek Conservancy and chairing Temple Sinai’s Investment Committee. Past board service has included: the Anacostia Watershed Society, Cavalry Women’s Shelter, and the President’s Circle Council of Higher Achievement.
